Iowa football’s Hockenson named Walter Camp All-American

Hawkeye tight end T.J. Hockenson’s accolade list just keeps on growing.

On Friday evening, the sophomore was named to the 2018 Walter Camp All-America Second Team by Walter Camp Foundation.

Hockenson hauled in 46 receptions for 717 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, averaging 15.6 yards per catch. He surpassed the century mark twice in 2018, going for 125 yards and 107 yards against Wisconsin and Indiana, respectively. His Indiana outing included 2 touchdowns as well.

Hockenson’s selection marks the fifth season in a row in which a Hawkeye has been named to a Walter Camp All-America team.

Hockenson adds a Walter Camp award to his growing list of honors this season. He’s won the John Mackey Award, the Ozzie Newsome Award, and was named the Kwalick-Clark Big Ten Tight End of the Year. He earned first-team honors in the Big Ten in the media voting, too.
