Weinberg sophomore Daniel Jessell dies

Northwestern student Daniel Jessell was found dead on Wednesday, Dean of Students Todd Adams wrote in an email to Northwestern students late Wednesday evening.

Jessell was a Weinberg sophomore from Del Ray Beach, Florida. He lived in Kemper Hall.

“I am deeply saddened by this news, and I extend my deepest condolences to Daniel’s family and close friends as the University community offers support to them during this very difficult time,” Adams wrote in the email.

The email gave no cause of death. University Police referred to a Northwestern spokesperson, who referred to Adams’ email.

In his email, Adams recommended students having difficulty with the news of Jessell’s death reach out to Counseling and Psychological Services, the Dean of Students office, the Chaplain’s office or residential services staff.
