The Woodi Cafe located in the Robert W. Woodruff Library has reopened August 13 after renovations and revamping of it’s menu selection.
Woodi Cafe closed its doors spring 2018 after the owners of the cafe were not satisfied with the merchandise being sold.
Students want to know if the Woodi Cafe would be accepting flex dollars provided on the Clark Atlanta University issued card, provide meal exchange or Morehouse issued DCBs? The new Woodi Cafe team has confirmed they are working on implementing these options for students.
Woodi Cafe’s Chef Cedric Brown said, “Being open so far it has been successful.” He created a new menu serving foods such as pizza, salads, and soups that change daily. All the foods sold at Woodi Cafe are made fresh daily. Before the renovations, Woodi Cafe was known for their amazing smoothies which are not currently on the menu. Brown shared the smoothies are being added back and students can look forward to their return shortly.
“I actually look forward to eating here when I come to the library. I’ve eaten at Woodi Cafe at least 10 times,” CAU psychology major, Blossom Ibekwe said.
The hours of Woodi Cafe are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays the cafe opens at 9 a.m. and closing at 3 p.m. Hours for midterms and finals have been posted and weekends are closed.
Students have expressed their want for the cafe hours to be extended until 9 p.m. which led to CAU senior, Menna Mulat creating a petition that has nearly 300 names in favor of the suggestion. Positions on the team are available for students with very open availability.
Brown encourages students, faculty and staff of the AUC to stop by and the full menu could be accessed by logging onto http://www.woodicafe.com/menus.html. “Very friendly and has hospitality,” Brown said of the Woodi Cafe team.
